Luxury Vinyl (LVT)

100% Waterproof: This is its biggest advantage. LVT will not swell, warp, or crack when exposed to moisture, making it ideal for wet areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and basements. High Durability & Resilience: Constructed with a tough wear layer, LVT is highly resistant to scratches, scuffs, stains, and dents from heavy furniture, making it perfect for high-traffic areas and homes with children or pets. Realistic Design Aesthetics: Advanced printing and embossing techniques create incredibly realistic replications of natural materials like hardwood (with texture and graining) and stone (like marble or slate) at a fraction of the cost. Comfort Underfoot: Unlike ceramic tile or real stone, LVT is softer and more comfortable to stand on for long periods (e.g., in a kitchen) and also feels warmer than traditional hard floors. Excellent Sound Insulation: The composite structure helps absorb impact noise (footsteps), making it a much quieter floor compared to laminate or tile, which is a major benefit in multi-story homes or apartments. Low Maintenance: It requires minimal effort to keep clean—usually just regular sweeping and occasional damp mopping. It never needs sanding, sealing, or polishing. Cost-Effective Investment: It provides the luxurious look of premium materials without the high initial cost and complex maintenance requirements of real wood or stone. Underfloor Heating Compatibility: Most LVT products are fully compatible with water-based and electric underfloor heating systems.

Laminate Flooring

Exceptional Affordability: Laminate is significantly less expensive than real hardwood, engineered wood, or high-end ceramic/porcelain tile, making it a budget-friendly option for large areas or whole-house renovations. Cost-Effective Aesthetics: You get the sophisticated, high-end look of premium materials (like exotic woods or marble) without the associated high price tag. High Durability: The transparent wear layer is extremely tough, offering excellent resistance to scratches, dents, fading (from UV light), and general wear and tear. Pet and Family-Friendly: Its resilience makes it well-suited for high-traffic areas and active households with children and pets. Easy to Clean and Maintain: Laminate requires only regular sweeping or vacuuming and occasional cleaning with a damp mop. It never needs waxing, polishing, or refinishing. Stain Resistant: The hard, sealed surface resists most common household stains, which are easy to wipe away. Hygienic and Hypoallergenic: The non-porous surface does not harbor dirt, dust, or allergens, making it a good choice for people with allergies. Wide Range of Styles: Modern printing technology creates highly realistic photographic layers, offering an enormous variety of designs, including almost every species of wood, as well as tile and stone looks. Realistic Texture: Many modern laminates feature embossed-in-register (EIR) textures that perfectly align with the printed wood grain, giving it a feel that is very close to real wood.

Modern Room Interior

Engineered/Solid Wood

Timeless and Elegant Aesthetic: Wood provides a natural, classic look that never goes out of style. Its unique grain patterns and character add warmth, luxury, and sophistication to any space, complementing virtually any design theme. Exceptional Longevity: With proper care, a quality solid wood floor can last for generations (50 to 100+ years), making it a sustainable, long-term investment rather than a temporary covering. Solid Wood: Can be sanded and refinished multiple times over its lifespan to remove deep scratches, repair damage, or simply change the stain color, effectively renewing the floor completely. Durable Surface: Hardwood species are naturally tough and resistant to daily wear and tear. While they can scratch, the ability to refinish them negates most concerns about long-term damage. Easy to Clean and Maintain: Unlike carpet, wood floors are easy to sweep, vacuum, and clean. They are stain-resistant and require no harsh chemicals—just simple, regular upkeep. Improves Indoor Air Quality: Wood is hypoallergenic. It does not trap dust mites, pet dander, pollen, or other common allergens like carpet does. This creates a much healthier living environment, especially for allergy and asthma sufferers. Good Acoustics: Wood has natural density that helps to absorb sound vibrations and reduce hollow echoes, contributing to a quieter and more peaceful environment. Thermal Comfort: Wood is a natural insulator that helps maintain a comfortable room temperature. Modern engineered wood is also highly stable and compatible with underfloor heating systems.

Tiling

Exceptional Water Resistance (Especially Porcelain): Tiled flooring, particularly porcelain, has an extremely low absorption rate, making it virtually impervious to water damage, warping, or swelling. This is why it is the gold standard for wet areas like bathrooms, showers, laundry rooms, and kitchens. Maximum Durability: Tiles are fired at high temperatures, making them incredibly hard, dense, and resistant to most forms of damage, including deep scratches, dents, heavy impact, and extreme wear. They are ideal for high-traffic entryways and commercial settings. Stain and Fade Resistant: The surface of glazed tiles resists staining from spills, and the material itself is resistant to fading from prolonged UV exposure, ensuring the colour and appearance last for decades. Very Low Maintenance: Upkeep is simple, requiring only regular sweeping/vacuuming and mopping with a mild detergent. They never require sanding, refinishing, or special conditioning. Highly Hygienic: The hard, non-porous surface (especially porcelain) does not harbor dirt, dust, allergens, bacteria, or mold. This is a major benefit for people with allergies or asthma, contributing to cleaner indoor air quality. Vast Design Versatility: Tiles come in an infinite range of colours, sizes, shapes, patterns, and materials (ceramic, porcelain, stone, glass, cement). You can achieve highly customized and intricate looks. Thermal Efficiency (Underfloor Heating): Tiles are excellent thermal conductors, meaning they heat up quickly and retain heat exceptionally well when used in conjunction with underfloor heating systems, providing luxurious warmth during colder months.

From the first contact Adrian was very responsive providing a comprehensive quote within a day. He followed through on all his commitments and we found his style very comforting and reassuring. He kept a close dialogue with other parties and was particularly considerate to neighbours.
Finally the end result was absolutely first class. He also returned on a weekend to do some final clearing up to ensure it met his own high standards
We couldn’t be happier.
We would employ Adrian again without hesitation.
